Version 16 brings a broad set of improvements to the way binary and text data can be explored. The interface gains a more contemporary visual treatment, while several analysis tools become more immediate.
Search while you work
Find now searches incrementally as you type, and Find and Find in Files use threaded operations. Regular expressions and find expressions can also be used to create live highlighting rules, making important regions easier to spot while investigating a file.
Understand randomness
Entropy calculation adds another way to investigate binary data. An entropy graph can reveal areas of a file that look highly random or comparatively structured, which is useful when exploring compressed, encrypted, executable, or mixed-content data.
More flexible templates
Template Results gain controls for checkboxes, colors, and flags, while new positioning attributes provide more control over how variables are associated with file addresses.
More platform coverage
Version 16 adds native macOS ARM support alongside Intel support, while continuing to provide versions for Windows and Linux.
